Club History

Woodcrafters of Winter Haven

Formed in 1990 by a group of men looking to better their woodworking skills by an exchange of help and knowledge through education.

The club has grown from 12 people to over 35 including several women with similar interest.

Through the years we have made and donated over 12000 toys to various needy organizations.

We have worked with the Audubon Society by building bird houses for them.

We have had several members donate their time and skills by working on the Historical Brown House in Bartow Florida. By making difficult patterns and trim for the exterior of the house.

Several of our members have participated in the Florida State Fair Fine Wood working Division and Wood Turning Division. They have won numerous awards as well as Best of Show.

We have worked with a local Boy Scout Troop by involving them in our annual toy project as well as passing on our wood working skills.

Our skill levels are from almost professional to just beginning. We have a program at every meeting to try to pass on our knowledge to others as well as having one on one sessions with those members wanting more information.

We try to teach safety, encouragement and our knowledge to the younger generation.

We were invited to show our work at the Polk County Museum in Bartow Florida two years in a row to enable the community to see our work. We have also had our work shown in several banks in the community.

We welcome the public to our meetings whether they are members or not members.

Our club is a family membership including the spouse.
